Recently, I learned that some of my images received awards and recognition in a couple of competitions I participated in. So, in an act of shameless self-promotion, I’d like to present to you the award-winning photographs.
Fine Art Photography Awards
Echoes
In the Fine Art Photography Awards My series “Echoes” has been nominated twice, once in the Architecture and once in the Conceptual category.
The Echoes series is series of photographs that I have held under wraps for more than a year now. While formally a set of semi-abstract architectural photos, it has a special twist to it which gives it a deeper meaning – if you are open for it and willing to take the time to explore the photographs. You can find the Echoes gallery here.

For good measure, I also entered a series of my animal portraits into the contest. Here are the images I have chosen:
International Color Awards
Yep, that’s right. I also took part in a competition specifically about color photography. What can I say… I was young and needed the money. 🙃
I submitted three photographs. The first, a portrait of a tiger, didn’t win anything.
The other two, however, received honorable mentions.
Black Spider Awards
Finally, for now, I am happy to announce that three of my images were awarded in the Black Spider Awards. My photo “Flux” received an honorable mention in the Abstract category.
The monochrome version of the tiger portrait you have already seen above was nominated in the Wildlife category.
Finally, last but certainly not least, my photo of a giraffe won the 3rd place in the same category.
I can only assume that the unusual crop played a significant role in the judges’ decision.
Conclusion
It should go without saying that I am pretty stoked about these awards. As so often in life, the things you expect to happen the least turn out to be the most rewarding. I should mention, however, that this was only possible due to a little help from my friends in The Arcanum. So, allow me to send my gratitude to these people for their ongoing encouragement, support, and constructive critique. Thank you so much!
