About Cee’s Black&White Photo Challenge
Here’s another submission to Cee’s Black&White Photo Challenge. For those of you who don’t know, Cee Neuner is running an ongoing theme-based photography challenge where people can share photographs using their WordPress blogs. This week’s topic is “Anything Construction Related.” And I have just the right image to share for this topic.
(De)Construction Site
In fact, it’s a pair of images. The first one is a pretty straightforward photo of a reflection of a construction site. It was taken in Düsseldorf, Germany. I love the abstract touch reflections can add to architectural images. Check it out.
I have also posted this photo on FlickR. It was the comment of one of my FlickR contacts, Walerija Weiser, which inspired me to take the image one step further. She said, “The numerous layers of this composition overlay, complement and contradict each other… the image itself feels like a construction site.” When I read these words, I had the idea that I could turn this place into a construction site, literally, by deconstructing the image using Photoshop. This image is the result.
I think there nothing to be said against a little photo manipulation if it happens for creative reasons and not for cheating.
Wait, there’s more
Speaking of layered images: There is one more image I would like to share with you. I took it in Berlin in the government district.
There’s no photo manipulation involved in this one. I achieved layering here using a polarizer.
If you like challenges like this one, head over to Cee’s website and share away! I’m looking forward to seeing your posts.

These are very interesting. I love to photograph reflections, it does show how multi layered the world is. Great stuff.
Thanks, Gavin. Glad you like this shot. If you are into photos of reflections, you really should check out my Deliberately Confusing gallery here: https://www.chm-photography.com/blog/deliberately-confusing/

I will, thanks
