Can you believe that I have been living close to a world heritage site for 17 years now and have never visited it? Well, I have to admit I have. But this period of shameful neglect ended this year. Since February 2018 I have photographed the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex three times, and I plan to go there much more often. It is a genuinely fascinating location, and I highly recommend it. If you can, don’t make the same mistake I made and go there as soon as possible.
Here is a collection of 30 images from my shoots at the Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex. As always, click on an image for a larger view.
